Better than L&L!! Cheap but very delicious! The chicken Katsu actual has chicken. Food is always fresh.

Customer service was really bad. The girls at the counter dont know how to handle a part-time job and taking orders. Bf and I came to pick up lunch. We ordered two spam musubi and one Bento #2. After we ordered and paid, the girl goes, "Bento #2 is such a pain in da ass to make!" Oh foreal! Are you the one making it? Then dont complain! Also, I dont see why frying one piece of chicken and fish, cooking one piece BBQ meat, and placing over chopped cabbage with two scoops rice is such a "pain in da ass"!? It may take a couple minutes more, but not by much! While we were waiting, the girls seemed really pissed that people werent picking up their orders as quickly as they were calling them. Maybe repeating themselves caused them to be in a bad mood? I thought it was unfair to take it out on people who didnt do anything to piss them off. Then we get our order, and my boyfriend asks for a plastic bag. The girl basically just tosses the bag to him and walks away. Jeez Louise check your attitude. I was craving a spam musubi so I was really happy, and I had a bite of the fried fish in my bfs bento. Was ono! So they get two stars (:

This isn't too bad of a place considering there are limited options in this foodcourt. I like the fact that you can get breakfast here at all hours. You can get cornbeef hash and eggs for dinner or lunch if you like. I have had their bbq cheeseburger on a few occassions. It's not too bad... I have also had their garlic ahi. Not bad... I am very curious to try their spaghetti. But anyways.... It's similar to L&L, and the prices are ok. Located in the PearlHighlands foodcourt next to the Regal Theaters and above Sam's Club in Pearl City.

A decent lunch spot. No frills, typical local plate lunch specials. Recommend the chicken guisantes.

Prob will only eat here as a last resort when I don't bring my lunch to work and don't feel like eating a sandwich at Blimpie's. As the other reviewers mentioned, I thought it said "L and L" at first but then realized it's not and no where close. The place has your typical local dishes, that range from 7-10 dollars. However, it's a little overpriced for the quality and amount of food you get. So, I had to knock off a star for that. I usually order the BBQ chicken and brown rice. The dish tastes ok, however the chicken is kind of tasteless and the skin is soft and a little soggy. So I take off the skin and the rest is partially edible. Have to knock another star off bc it's a long wait to get my food. After I place my order, it takes 15 + minutes to cook it. When I finally get it, I now have less than 10 minutes to eat and walk back to work. I've ordered the same dish at many other places and it takes 5-8 minutes to come out, definitely not 15+ minutes. Lastly, have to knock off two stars for the poor service. I actually decided to go back yesterday and when I walked up, the worker muttered something to me and I said excuse me? She replied with "what do you want?" in a curt tone. So, I walked away and went to the Korean food place instead. Maybe L&G will have a second chance in the future when the service is more customer focused and food didn't take so long.

This is the kind of place where it makes me thankful Yelp exists. I ate here with my toddler and baby. When I asked the woman behind the cashier for a tin foil to take home our leftovers, she said, "26 cents." That's exactly what every mom--toting kids, a stroller, diaper bag--wants to hear. That we have to pull out an additional 26 cents for 2 cents worth of foil! Everything tasted sour from there. Never going back.

Stay away! Kalbi and what they call "New York steak" is the worst pieces of meat I've ever ate. Normally the meat/tendon around the bone is the best part. The New York steak was like eating rubber and the khaki was no better.

i got a typical bbq/local food type-a dish: bbq mix plate. well, i did not think you could mess up such a dish as the bbq mix plate (teri beef, bbq chicken, kalbi) turns out, you can. "messed up" on this occasion means: lacking in flavor. all 3 meats were very bland. none of the meats had 'char marks' on them, so im not sure if they even have a grill back there? i got a side salad as opposed to the mac salad. the greens were not cold/chilled and were just a wee bit discolored. im sure there are some dishes that l&g has that are pretty good, but im not giving them a second chance. oh, and the lady behind the counter was nice (enough.)

This place is aight. I thought it was L&L Hawaiian Barbeque at first when I first looked at it but it's actually named L&G. I bet they probably get those recognitions a lot when they get spotted. I wonder what the acronyms mean. It's conveniently right inside the Pearl Highlands Shopping Center Food Court. They have a pretty big menu of food and specials just like any other local Hawaiian barbeque plate lunch place. Came here on night for the first time for dinner right before watching a movie and got the Mahi Mahi special. The regular was like around $7.50 and the mini was like $5.99. I actually liked the Mahi Mahi plate over here. It tasted pretty good probably because of the MSG. I got it along with brown rice which they serve and your typical greens, tartar sauce, and macaroni salad. The prices are decent, pretty. The staff and customer service is ok too. Service was good. A guy took my order, it was a little hard to understand with his accent. I ordered a mini chili dog plate. It came with a scoop of rice and mac salad. The rice, hotdog and mac salad was good. The chili on the otherhand.....well...sucked! It tasted more like beef stew. And bad beef stew at that! Too sweet, ugh! So I guess I wouldn't order their beef stew either. This was my first time here so maybe I should give them another try, but not for a while though. This food court is very limited so when I'm tired of Sumo Ramen or that Chinese place then I'll try here again.

Sorry L&G Local, I tried you're beef curry stew and it was not very good. I can't put my finger on it, but the curry taste just wasn't "right". Also, the meat had several tough pieces that was impossible to chew. The service was good, the girl taking my order was pleasant and cheerful, unfortunately, the food was definitely sub-par.

I'm addicted to their Aloha plate, cannot get enough! Deluxe dbl burger is great too. Can't go wrong with the loco moco or chicken katsu either lol. At first I thought the staff was rude, but they just don't speak any English, so their convo is pretty limited. So now I just nod, smile and say, aloha plate. It's a match made in heaven now :) This place is great local food

Don't eat here. Ordered breakfast, bacon was tough and chewy. Also ordered pancakes and it tasted sour, only had a few bites and threw it away. Food gave me a terrible stomach ache that lasted all day. Save your money and your stomach!!!

Ugh, what to say about this place... Well, let's just say this place is like a wannabe l & l drive inn. The potential for good food is there, but the food is so-so. Doesn't meet my taste buds' expectations. I have eaten here more than once. I have tried their grilled pork chop and mochiko chicken. Both were very blan and lacked flavor. I had to pour schiracha sauce all over the mochiko chicken because it tasted that blan. The mac salad is ok. Plate lunches always come with scoop rice and mac salad. You can order either a mini or regular size. Even though I haven't eaten everything there, my "ok" experiences is enough to not want to come back.

Not L & "L"??!! All this time, I thought it was. Oh, well. Same type of food. Same type of service. Same accents taking my order of chicken katsu or shrimp burger & fries. Works for me... Although I thought they used to give more fries. Or maybe I'm mixing this place up with your local L & L's or your neighborhood Loco Moco. I'm not saying this place is a dump, especially since when I come here all the time and visit this food court, I end up here. Can't complain if I keep coming back for more, right? Plus, I once ordered a jumbo coke and they pretty much gave me a bucket trough of soda. It lasted me my meal and then some. I appreciated that even though my stomach didn't. In fact, I don't know if they even make that size drink anymore. I know Mickey D's sadly got rid of that size for 99 cents. That was the best drink price in town. Anyway, L & G's is alright. Just like this food court is alright. Just like Pearl City used to be like Mililani, but now it's just alright. I could've rated it lower, but my stomach unconsciously gave it another star.

L&G Local Food is located in the food court at Pearl Highlands Center. (Pearl Highlands had an event, plus pictures with Santa, so the food court was pretty packed) Because my son wanted local moco, and there was no line, we ordered a mini for $5 Local Moco 3 star - same type of local moco plate with hamburger, brown sauce, a scoop of rice and mac salad. Service - 2 star - The egg was not cooked enough. The white part of the egg was still transparent. Thus, because of the risk of salmonella, we returned it, only to have the cook lay another over easy egg on top of the uncooked one, still spreading the risk. Totally grossed me out. My son ate it because he was hungry, and we're hoping he won't be getting salmonella from the previous raw egg. I guess there's a reason why there is no line at certain places, and luckily, he didn't get sick from it.

My Luvah and I ate here on Saturday after hearing that my friend ranted about their garlic mahi. And she was right! The garlic ahi is very delicious! I do not eat meat so I can only review this. I'm sad that a lot of people gave crappy reviews, but I know i'll be going back for the garlic mahi and their French fries! I'm a total fan! I must say way better than L & L's garlic mahi.

I was hungry for chicken Katsu so this was the stop. Prices are decent and Katsu is Katsu. It's hard to mess up Katsu. I ate a mini cause I didn't need the extra scoop of rice. The Katsu portion was enough and it hit da spot. I add siracha to the Katsu sauce to give it a little kick. Don't eat other things there cause I try not to frequent plate lunch places much. Aloha

Never freaking eat here. Food is not cooked properly i ate it twice and both times I threw up 20 mins after eating there. The egg wasn't even cooked.

This place is just AIGHT. I've ate here 3x and nothing's really changed. Mediocre at best type food. Recently I had their loco moco and it wasn't that bad.. But it it DEFINITELY wasn't that great either. I was hella starving, so I did mop my plate, but I'm sure I'd have mopped any plate at that moment! I will say that their loco moco is better than their meat jun! That's really not saying much, but atleast it's a step up from what could possibly be the worst meat jun I've ever had! ..& because I work in the complex I do get tired of eating the same food, so I most likely will try something by them again..... But it's due to my limited selection of food choices here! & it won't be any time soon.

Stop to eat here real quick before going to the movies. Bad idea, we wanted something fast we order a hamburger and cheese fries, they were both tasteless. When I went to put ketchup on the burger a roach walk by.... that's just nasty and the lady just looked at me for a sec and put her head back down to keep typing on her phone. Never again!

What you see is what you get and from the looks it's not good. Most places that don't appear great on the outside usually have great food, not in this case. I say it's a step it two below average that I could have cooked up in my house (and I am not a good cook) The worst part is the lady ran my card and tried to say I only paid 84¢ when that was actually amount due. Just another place trying to swindle money. Smh

This place is okay if you are hungry and like pound one plate lunch or sandwich kind stuff. Food not all that great due to lack of taste and good preparation/cooking. I dont think ill be eating here again.
